Gorgeous Victorian brooch in 10k yellow gold

The Victorians loved jewels with hidden meanings. One form were rebus jewels in which elements of the jewel represented a word or phrase. For example small brooches with delicate enamel flowers set in a crescent moon, like this one, might have been interpreted as “honeymoon.”

A wonderful gift to a bride to be or a beloved.

This brooch has lovely little forget me not flowers in a robins egg blue and made of 10k yellow gold.

A moon often represented feminism in this period.

Approximately 20mm in diameter

This is truly a remarkable piece
